About Me!

Assalamu alaikum and welcome everyone!

My name is Faatimah and I want to welcome you to my little space on the internet - the place where I can ramble on about food for as long as I like and share my latest recipe obsession with all of you.

On my blog, you'll find step-by-step photo recipes for both sweet and savoury halal dishes.

I love putting a halal spin on many different cuisines. As my family is originally from Pakistan, you'll find plenty of plenty of traditional Pakistani food here - the kind your mother used to make but you were always too scared to try yourself.

I was born and brought up in England so there are plenty of English recipes here too. However, I love discovering and putting my Halal-spin on new cuisines. My current favourites are authentic Chinese and Middle-Eastern.

And of course, I love ticking things off my baking bucket list. Baking is how my love for the kitchen began. There's lots of classic baked goods here along with a few more adventurous ones. And everything is halal, of course!

Finally, a few fun facts about me in the kitchen. I have way too many chilli sauces in the cupboard, always make wonky layer cakes and cannot stand desiccated coconut.

Have a browse through my blog and enjoy!

  1. Hi Faatimah

What a great site. I have done a few of your recipes and they are great. Tasty, easy to do and a godsend. My GF Nivi and I have a tiny kitchen so no room for such luxuries as a deep fryer so your oven recipes are a lifesaver.

Keep doing what you are doing as you and your recipes are inspiring!

  18. Dear Fatimah,
As Salaam alaikum. My wife is a great cook. She has been cooking amazing stuff for Ramzan. With Ramzan in full swing, I decided to give her a rest for iftaar and prepared crispy pakoras using your recipe. Using a few additional items for the spice mix (Ajwain, dash of ginger/garlic, turmeric for slight colour), I managed to prepare delicious pakoras which the whole family enjoyed. We even send some in a plate to our neighbours to add to the community spirit. The crispiness of the Pakoras was amazing. Thank you for inspiring me to cook better. I liked the presentation of your blog with pictures demonstrating every step. Well done. You may have inspired us to start blogging about our recipes. :). May Allah bless you.
This is the first time that we are commenting on a blog.

I just wanted to quickly mention how your recipes helped in my fist year of marriage. I was clueless when it came to cooking and having moved to London straight after the wedding reception 2 years ago,I was in trouble. My first dish was your chickpea pilau and till this day my husband loves it

So just want to say thank you for all your hard work putting up these recipes. Alhamdulillah

  22. Asalaamulaikum Faatimah, I hope you're well.

I just want to say thank you so much for sharing all your recipes! Your blog is my go-to and hasn't failed me once. I've been married for nearly a year and I hadn't ever cooked before getting married, in fact I just about knew how to do the dishes lol. I wanted to make dishes that I know my husband and in laws would enjoy, but wouldn't confuse me too much either as I had no knowledge of cooking. Alhamdulillah I now feel so confident being in the kitchen, I've become addicted to cooking and that's all thanks to you! My family actually request certain dishes now that come from your blog, such as the chicken fajitas which I'm making right now!
Your carrot cupcakes are also a big hit in the house!!

May Allah bless you immensely and put barakah in all that you do, In Sha Allah!
