Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

It's the last day of January!
And, although I wish every sunrise this month had been as pretty as the one above, let's be real.

the more syrup, the better.
love buttering our homemade roti.
getting all the spices in!
for a masala roast chicken with chips!
cooling my cupcakes outside!
these poor cupcakes were put through all the weather elements.
first, with a tonne of wind and here, with a random early morning snow shower.
pre-bake.
post-bake.
turned out!
 tested!
snow! a light dusting but still, snow!
I tried making falafels with dried chickpeas. they turned out really nice and held their shape very well.
falafel sides.
I have been majorly obsessed with these homemade fries this past month. Like, I've actually lost count of how many times we've thrown them in the oven.
the key is a high temperature (220C), a rubber spatula and plenty of time untouched. I think I need to do a full geeky blogpost about these soon.
 spicing up ....
ingredients out for a recipe that I didn't end up being too happy with!
trying out homemade caramel popcorn!
using my biggest bowl to mix up a chocolate cake.
the money shot.
burning marshmallows.
I see the sun!
putting coffee onto my toast.
roasting veg for ...
... homemade stock.
you cannot beat cheese on toast.
soup for lunch!
whisking up a batch of hot fudge sauce!
and, putting orange zest into my favourite giant cookie.
the best dessert!
little lady.
the breakfast aftermath.

nearly six months and nearly sitting up!

This Time Two Years Ago:
january 2015: the one where it snowed.

I hope you had a great January. Keep me in your duas please!
