Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

Happy Monday!

And, it's the last day of October. This month is always one of my favourites because it's when the weather is proper autumn. I love it. This month has been filled with so many sweet treats including this beautiful floral cake that made cousin made.

Let's turn our brownies into cookies!

Seriously guys, it makes so much sense. I love me some brownies but let's be honest, they're not the quickest thing to bake. Cookies, on the other hand ....

Guys, I am so excited about my new blog design!
I had been wanting to get the whole site redesigned for ages. Finally, a few months ago, I took the plunge and got in touch with the wonderful Sadaf over at Design Bliss Feast.

Sooji Halwa - Semolina Halwa.

The kind that we eat with pooris and chanay!
This Sooji Halwa is a classic Pakistani dessert but as with the others I've made in the past, it was always shrouded in mystery.

Chicken Pittas with Spicy Garlic Sauce.

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Too summery for October?
Aah, who cares when they're so delicious? I've made the chicken pittas twice already in the past week and the spicy garlic sauce is my new go-to for everything. It is so good as a mayo replacement in sandwiches.

This recipe begins with the chicken. I was supposed to keep the marinade oil-based but in the end, could not resist dolloping in a few tablespoons of yoghurt. The yoghurt makes all the difference. Think about things like tandoori chicken. The reason it always comes out so soft and succulent is because of the yoghurt that is used in the marinade.

The Laziest Lamb Pulao.

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

You guys, can you feel the days getting shorter?

I definitely can. Today has been super busy, as always, and it's still not over yet. I made a classic Pakistani dessert (recipe coming!) and then, marinaded an entire roast chicken. I know to some of you that may seem nothing but for me, it was terrible. I'm so bad at touching raw whole chickens. It gives me the shivers especially since our neighbours have decided to keep a whole flock of chickens in their back garden. I'm telling you, the hens know when I'm cooking chicken because their clucking and squawking gets louder!

Chicken Cheeseburgers.

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

Happy Wednesday!

It's been a busy one here. I spent the morning shooting a new rice recipe perfect for these colder days. My afternoon was spent hanging out with my mother, cousins, aunt and adorable niece. My cousin baked and decorated a naked floral cake. It was so good with layers of both vanilla and lemon.
