Oreo Ice Cream Dessert

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

This quick Oreo Ice Cream Dessert came about when I needed a dessert and did not want to turn on the oven.

It was Sunday and rather hot outside and in, so ice cream was the answer. Found a packet of Oreos in the cupboard along with some Angel Delight and Dream Topping. And, a few half-empty tubs of ice cream that were cluttering up the freezer drawer and needed finishing. Put them all together, sprinkle on crushed meringue and dessert was ready!

Ingredients needed include Oreo biscuits, melted butter, ice cream, angel delight, dream topping and meringues.

Bismillah, let's begin!

To make the biscuit base, grab a packet of Oreos. Or any other biscuit you have. As you will see, this recipe is very versatile.

Empty the packet out into a blender, and taste one, of course - for quality control.

Blend until they're all crushed.

Pour in 3 tablespoons of Melted Butter.

Scrape out the crumbs into a dish.

Press the crumbs down with the back of a spoon, and then freeze, covered, for about 30 minutes or until firm.

Once firm, grab your ice cream. I used 3 ice creams, and I let them soften at room temperature.

On went the Baked Alaska ice cream.

And, we have to have a little chocolate.

Spread on the Double Chocolate ice cream.

There is no real method to this - just spread it with the back of a spoon.

Finally, one of my favourites, Cornish ice cream!

I had more of this one so I put on a good layer. Freeze, covered, for a few hours or overnight until firm.

Next, the creamy topping. I used a strawberry Angel Delight and a packet of Dream Topping. If you don't have either, try freshly whipped cream.

Whisk up both creams.

Grab your dish out of the freezer.

Spread on the Angel Delight.

And, then swirl on the Dream Topping.

Finally, for a little extra sweet crunch on top, I found these Meringue Nests in the cupboard.

These are perfect to keep in stock at all times. You can cover them with whipped cream and fresh fruit for a quick pavlova.

Crush the meringues, and scatter over the dessert. You could also use sprinkles or grated chocolate, if that's more your thing.

Now, you can either pop this back in the freezer to chill at a little more or serve straight away!
Be creative with this dessert - use your favourite ice cream and biscuits, and have fun!
