Paprika Chicken

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

This recipe is for Paprika Chicken. This recipe was cooked and photographed by an old friend of mine - Aaisha. It's such an easy dish to make. I tried it last night, and was actually shocked by how quickly everything came together. The dish is like a curry but without the hassle of peeling, chopping and crying over onions!

A Simple List of Ingredients:

1. Whole Chicken Pieces
2. Tomatoes
3. Red Chilli Powder
4. Crushed Red Chilli Flakes
5. Salt
6. Paprika Powder
7. Vegetable Oil

Bismillah, let's begin!

Take 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces.

Now, you'll need 4 tomatoes.

Slice the tomatoes into quarters.

Take 2 teaspoons paprika powder ..

.. 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste ..

1 teaspoon red chilli powder ..

1 teaspoon crushed red chilli flakes.

Take a large pot, and heat a few tablespoons vegetable oil.

Place all the ingredients into the pot.

Using a wooden spoon, stir everything until well combined.

Leave the chicken uncovered on a medium heat until the tomatoes have all dissolved - it should be quite watery.

Cover and cook on low until the chicken is cooked and the sauce is thick.

Plate up and serve!

Serve with homemade chips and homemade pasta salad like Aaisha did, or you could serve it with roti, naan or garlic bread.

Wasalaam!
