Homemade Lemonade

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

This recipe is for Homemade Lemonade.

My mum is a huge fan of sour fruits like lemons and limes. So I decided to make her a batch of homemade lemonade since we had a huge pile of lemons in the fridge. I tried this recipe and it worked out perfect! It was really refreshing and not too sour. All who tasted it loved it. It's not hard - you could even use bottled lemon juice instead of fresh, if you don't have enough time.

A Simple List of Ingredients:

1. Water
2. Sugar
3. Lemon Juice
4. Ice

Bismillah, let's make lemonade!

Place 210 grams (1 cup) caster sugar into a small pan.

Add 250 ml (1 cup) waterCook over medium heat until the sugar completely dissolves.

Once the liquid is clear and the sugar has all dissolved, let it cool in the fridge until completely cold.

Then, pour 1 litre + 80 ml (5 cups) water into a large jug.

Take 250 ml (1 and 1/4 cups)  fresh lemon juice. I used 6 lemons all together, but you could use bottled lemon juice instead.

Add the lemon juice to the water in the jug.

Add the cold water and sugar mixture to the jug. At this point I realised my jug was too small, so make sure yours is big enough.

Finally, take a large handful (about 2 and 1/2 cups) ice, or add as much as you like.

Add the ice to the jug.

Give the lemonade a good stir ..

.. and serve!

Wasalaam!
