Heavenly Chocolate Cake

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

This recipe is for a Heavenly Chocolate Cake. This is an amazing cake for any chocolate lovers out there. The fudge icing itself is so decadent and is made using a different but easy technique. Make this cake as a surprise for someone today, and they will not be disappointed.



 A Simple List of Ingredients:

1. Dark Chocolate
2. Milk Chocolate
3. Butter
4. Water
5. Caster Sugar
6. Eggs
7. Self-Raising Flour
8. Ground Almonds
9. Cocoa Powder
10. Icing Sugar
11. Milk
12. White Chocolate

Bismillah, let's start!

Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 4 or 180 degrees.



Grease and line 2 sandwich tins with grease-proof paper.




Place 4 ounces milk chocolate and 3 ounces dark chocolate into a heatproof bowl.




Add 4 ounces butter.




Add 2 tablespoons water.




Place the bowl over a pan of hot water and heat gently, stirring until the mixture has melted. Set aside to cool.




Place 4 ounces caster sugar into a bowl.




Add 3 egg yolks.




Whisk with an electric mixer until light in colour and fluffy.




Add the cooled chocolate mixture.




Stir to combine.




Add 3 ounces self-raising flour.




Add 2 ounces ground almonds.




Carefully fold in.




Place 3 egg whites into a bowl.




Whisk with an electric mixer until stiff but not dry.




Add the egg white mixture to the chocolate mixture.




Gently and thoroughly ..




.. fold into the chocolate mixture.




Divide the mixture between the two tins.




Bake in the preheated oven at Gas Mark 4 for 50 minutes.




Once cool, remove the cakes from their tins and allow to completely cool on a wire rack.



To make the fudge icing, melt 4 ounces butter in a pan.



Add 2 ounces cocoa powder.



Cook, stirring, for 1 minute.



Add 1 pound sifted icing sugar and about 6 tablespoons milk.



Beat well until smooth, and then leave to cool until thickened.



To assemble, place one cake onto a cake stand.



Spread on half the fudge icing.



Place the second cake on top, and cover the top and sides with the rest of the fudge icing.



Grate white chocolate on to the cake, to decorate.



The cake is ready - simple but stunning! 



Serve the cake with ..
