Chocolate Shortbread with White Chocolate Drizzle

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!



This recipe is for Chocolate Shortbread with White Chocolate Drizzle. They are really easy to bake, and nothing beats the taste of homemade shortbread - a buttery chocolate taste! What's not to love?

A Simple List of Ingredients:

1. Butter
2. Sugar
3. Egg Yolk
4. Vanilla Flavouring
5. Plain Flour
6. Cocoa Powder
7. Salt
8. Milk Chocolate
9. White Chocolate

Bismillah, let's begin!

Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 5.


Place 8 ounces butter, into the bowl of a standing mixer.




Add 5 ounces sugar.




Beat the butter and sugar together.




Add 1 egg yolk.




Add 2 teaspoons non-alcoholic vanilla flavouring.




Beat together.




Add 9 ounces sifted plain flour.




Add 1 ounce sifted cocoa powder.




Add a pinch of salt.




Stir everything to combine.




Add 4 ounces chopped milk chocolate.




Stir well to combine.




Onto a greased baking tray, roll teaspoonful of dough, and then flatten into biscuit shapes.




Bake in the preheated oven at Gas Mark 5 for 10 minutes.




Transfer the biscuits to a wire rack to cool completely.




For the white chocolate drizzle, place 6 ounces white chocolate into a bowl.




Heat the white chocolate in the microwave for a minute or two, until completely melted.




Place the melted white chocolate into a piping bag.




Take a cold biscuit, and drizzle with white chocolate. You can do any design you like.




Repeat with the remaining biscuits, and then allow to cool until the white chocolate sets.




Serve with tea or coffee, or as a snack. These will not last long!
