Banoffee Pie

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

This recipe is for Banoffee Pie. It is an English no-bake dessert pie, made from bananas, cream and toffee sauce. You can buy the toffee sauce in cans (it's called dulce de leche), but in this recipe, I made my own by boiling condensed milk with other goodies!

A Simple List of Ingredients:

1. Digestive Biscuits
2. Caster Sugar
3. Butter
4. Brown Sugar
5. Condensed Milk
6. Bananas
7. Double Cream
8. Icing Sugar
9. Vanilla Flavouring
10. Chocolate Biscuit Balls (optional)

Bismillah, let's begin!

To make the biscuit base, mix together:
6 ounces crushed digestive biscuits
1 ounce caster sugar
2 ounces melted butter

Place the biscuit mixture into a pie dish with a removable bottom.

Press the biscuit mixture to form the base. Place in the fridge to firm up for 1 hour.

To make the toffee sauce, place 3 and 1/2 ounces brown sugar to a small saucepan.

Add 3 and 1/2 ounces butter.

Place the pan onto a low heat, and melt the sugar and butter whilst stirring all the time until the sugar has dissolved.

Next, take 1 can condensed milk.

Add the condensed milk.

Bring to a rapid boil for 1 minute, stirring all the time.

..Until you have a thick, golden caramel. Allow to cool for 10 minutes.

Pour the caramel onto the biscuit base. Chill in the fridge for 2 hours, or until set.

Next, take 2 peeled and sliced bananas.

Arrange the banana slices on top of the chilled caramel.

Next, take:
 1 small carton double cream
2 tablespoons icing sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla flavouring
And whip together until soft peaks form.

Spread over the sliced bananas.

Decorate with chocolate biscuit balls, or any other kind of decoration. This is optional.

Chill in the fridge until it's time to serve.

Slice and enjoy!!
