Fresh Tomato and Basil Pasta

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!



This recipe is for Fresh Tomato and Basil Pasta. Quite often, tinned tomatoes are used in pasta dishes, and they do taste good, but I want to show you a recipe that uses fresh tomatoes. It is really easy to put together, and perfect for busy weeknights. 

 A Simple List of Ingredients:

1. Tomatoes
2. Onions
3. Garlic
4. Olive Oil
5. Tomato Puree
6. Fresh Basil
7. Salt and Pepper
8. Your Favourite Dried Pasta
9. Your Favourite Cheese
10. Sugar

Bismillah, let's start!



To start, slice 2 onions.




And, thinly slice 2 garlic cloves.




Heat a few tablespoons olive oil in a large pan, and add the sliced onions and garlic.




Saute the onions and garlic on medium heat until golden brown.



Next, take 4 tomatoes.



Roughly slice the tomatoes, and place into a blender with a little water.



Blend until a smooth paste is formed.



Add the blended tomatoes to the pan.



Next, take a teaspoon tomato puree, and a handful fresh basil.



Add to the pan.



Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Add a pinch of sugar, as well.



Stir to combine, and the I added a little more tomato puree for colour.



Stir to combine, and bring to the boil.



Cover, and simmer on a low heat for 30 minutes.



After 30 minutes, uncover.



Place the cooked sauce into the blender, and blend until smooth.



Pour the blended sauce back into the pan, and heat through.



Meanwhile, bring salted water to the boil, and cook 6 ounces of your favourite dried pasta.




Drain the pasta.




Take a handful of fresh basil.




Tear the fresh basil and add to the sauce.




Add the cooked pasta to the sauce.




Stir to combine.




Serve with more fresh basil and shavings of your favourite cheese!
